SAHS-Reaching Out to our Community and Giving a Helping Hand

S.A.H.S. or Society of Aids and HIV Survivors was created in 2016 to assist people that are infected and affected with HIV/AIDS. Services that will be offered are to help assist and empower each individual living with this disease. This project was the end result of another agency having to close its doors because of funding issues.
Our Mission
S.A.H.S. has a dual mission — to provide medical care referrals and social services to people with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), and to help prevent the spread of HIV through education, counseling and testing.
S.A.H.S is a grass-roots, community based up and coming non-profit organization. We were created to provide services to those in our community that are often disenfranchised by this still deadly disease, filling the gaps in referral services that no other agency can provide and to give compassion to those that are still feeling the stigma. Current services that we are providing include HIV Testing, Men’s and Women’s HIV support group meetings, Case Mgt. and Medical Referral, Food Pantry, Diabetes check, HIV Advocacy, Client Social Living Room and triage.
Philosophy
S.A.H.S. is guided by the belief that those affected by this disease should receive compassion and understanding by those that are currently affected or infected. We are committed to providing extensive and confidential care referrals for those infected by HIV/AIDS and to also provide education and testing in order to help prevent the further spread of this disease. S.A.H.S advocates a harm reduction philosophy believing that all individuals with HIV need compassionate services, including food and shelter and for clients to feel that they are in a safe place and are and can be a positive part of society.
S.A.H.S. exists to provide dignity and comfort to individuals infected with HIV and AIDS. We support and uphold the provision of services without discrimination on any basis, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, handicap, immigrant status, national origin, and criminal background.
We will continue in these footsteps, by never wavering in our commitment to identify the gaps of care for our community and seeking ways to fill those needs. We stand by the commitment that we will not stay silent and fade into the night.
We will shine bright and live a long and happy life.
